Rodrigo Bentancur took to social media to express his delight after seeing his Tottenham teammates put in a commanding performance against Chelsea.
Even though Spurs went into the game as favourites due to Chelsea’s poor recent form, there was some apprehension among the Tottenham fans about the London derby, given how dominant the Blues have been in this fixture over recent years.
The first-half was quite tight, with both teams seemingly happy not to give away chances rather than taking risks.
Predictably, the home side stepped up a gear in the second-half and saw instant results, with Oliver Skipp netting his first senior goal for the club less than a minute after kick-off.
Harry Kane then got on the end of Eric Dier’s flick-on to turn the ball home at the far post to seal the win for the Lilywhites.
Bentancur, who had surgery on his reputed ACL last week and is expected to be out of action until September (Evening Standard), was delighted with what he saw.
The Uruguayan posted an Instagram story of Kane after the full-time whistle, along with three clap symbols and heart-eyed emojis.

Bentancur’s importance to the Spurs side cannot be overstated but the midfielder’s injury has presented a golden opportunity to Skipp, who has grabbed it with both hands.
If not for the Uruguayan’s injury, the 22-year-old would have struggled to get a look in and perhaps might have even pushed for a move in the summer.
