Ange Postecoglou has been informed about Mauricio Pochettino’s influence at Tottenham from staff who spanned across both eras at the club.

Tottenham welcome Chelsea to N17 for the latest London derby on Monday Night Football as they look to continue their unbeaten start under Postecoglou.

A win over the Blues would see Spurs create a massive 17-point gap between themselves and their fierce rivals after just 11 games of the Premier League season.

However, a defeat would hand Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool the chance to leapfrog the Lilywhites and send them all the way from first to fourth come the end of the match week.

Postecoglou has heard all about Pochettino at Spurs

This Monday will also mark Mauricio Pochettino’s first return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following his sacking in 2019 and he is sure to receive a mixed reception from the Spurs crowd.

It turns out that Postecoglou has been told all about Pochettino’s time at Spurs from those within the club, and he believes the staff and fans will have the utmost respect for the Argentine.

He said (Football London): “It’s undoubted that he had an unbelievable impact on this football club. For all of us, that’s our ultimate goal.

“He had an undeniable impact on this club. His work is unquestioned. People I speak to here who worked with him can’t speak highly enough about him.

“I can’t imagine there will be anything but respect for Mauricio from the people at this club and the fans. He’s not going to get a guard of honour or anything because we want to win the game and he won’t expect that, but there will be respect for him.”

Spurs Web Opinion:

I honestly think it will be a mixture of gentle applause and booing when Pochettino walks out into the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I don’t think anyone can have any real animosity towards him, but there is always going to be a playful rivalry when you manage Chelsea.
