Tottenham Hotspur are now just one step away from signing Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Italian football journalist has claimed that after securing the services of striker Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus are now looking to restyle their midfield with their hopes of landing Borussia Monchengladbach’s Dennis Zakaria and Nahitan Nandez from Napoli.

Bentancur is set to reject any advances from Aston Villa in order to make the switch to north London with Tottenham offering in excess of €20million (£16.4million) with the final details to be sorted as a result of Juventus having to pay Boca Juniors 30 per cent of the fee received due to a sell-on clause in his current contract.

Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski will also arrive at Tottenham on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy based on set parameters including the number of appearances made and Champions League qualification.

Fabrizio Romano claimed that talks would continue today (Sunday) after Spurs tabled a 19m (£15.8m) offer together with €6m (£4.9m) in add-ons.

If Tottenham can get both players signed and sealed it will go some way to appeasing the club’s fanbase who have grown increasingly frustrated at how late they are conducting their business in the transfer window.

Hopefully, the pair are two players who are high on Antonio Conte’s list and help appease the Italian for the second half of the campaign.
