Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that their pre-season friendly against Leicester City has been called off due to adverse weather conditions in Bangkok.
Spurs were due to take on the Foxes in their second pre-season friendly of the summer at the Rajamangala National Stadium but the game always looked to be in doubt due to the torrential downpour in Bangkok.
Kick-off was originally scheduled for 11 am UK time but it got delayed due to water logging on the pitch and following several pitch inspections by the referee (Alasdair Gold), the officials finally decided to call off the game.

Spurs confirmed that based on a recommendation from the match officials, the event organisers deemed the pitch ‘unplayable and unsafe’.

This means that Ange Postecoglou’s men will depart Thailand without playing a game in the country, with the squad now set to fly to Singapore for a clash against local side, Lion City Sailors on 26 July.
Spurs Web Opinion
It is a shame that the game was called off as the players are going to need matches to get accustomed to Postecoglou’s approach. However, the right decision was taken, given the state of the pitch as the players would not have wanted to risk injury.
