Tottenham Hotspur could decide against looking to shift out Bryan Gil during the January transfer window, according to a report from The Times.
The Spanish international joined Tottenham in July 2021 from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela joining the Spanish side in a swap-plus-£21.6m cash deal, however, his time in North London has not exactly gone to plan having failed to break into the first team (The Athletic).
Gil has previously admitted that he struggled with the physical demands of playing in England during his first year at the club compared to what he had been used to back in La Liga (Football.London).
The talented winger departed Tottenham for a second time in January having returned to former club Sevilla on loan, where he helped the side to win the Europa League having previously joined Valencia the year before.

Does Bryan Gil have a future at Tottenham?
Gil started the current campaign injured, having missed the opportunity to impress Ange Postecoglou on the pre-season tour and instead remained back at Hotspur Way and had to undergo surgery in August in a bid to rectify a groin issue, the club confirmed in a brief statement.
The report claims that while the 22-year-old was originally one of a number of fringe players that Tottenham were focusing on getting out of the door along with Eric Dier, Hugo Lloris and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, they may now have to reconsider due to the injuries suffered by Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic.
Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week and had surgery to fix the issue last Thursday while Perisic a sustained a complex Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in his right knee and also went under the knife.

With no European football or Carabao Cup fixtures ahead, it looks like Gil will have little opportunity to play and force his way into Postecoglou’s plans unless Totte nham’s injuries continue toworsen on the left side.
