Bukayo Saka has insisted that there is a lot more to come from Arsenal this season and his side are still capable of going up another couple of gears.
Tottenham maintained their two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with an impressive 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last Friday, but Arsenal and Manchester City showed during the weekend why many expect them to battle it out for the title once again this season.
The Gunners brushed aside Sheffield United 5-0 in what was undoubtedly their most convincing performance of the season so far while City cruised to a 3-0 win at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Bukayo Saka says Arsenal have extra gears to use
Mikel Arteta’s men fell at the final hurdle last season after being at the top of the pack for much of the campaign, and Saka has now warned their title rivals that Arsenal are hungry to put things right this time.
The England international told The Sun following his side’s 5-0 win: “There is another level for us to go to and we are pushing. Scoring five goals on Saturday shows we are getting closer. It’s the first time this season we have scored five so we are really proud and happy.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Arsenal have not been at their best this season but have continued to pick up wins, which is a hallmark of a great side.
It is not realistic to expect Spurs to compete with the Gunners this season, given that Arteta has had a four-year head start on his project compared to Ange.
I think we can potentially start planning for a title tilt next season once Ange has had a couple of more transfer windows to strengthen the squad.
