Football Insider have claimed that Bryan Gil has impressed Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff in training and that the winger is expected to play a prominent role over the upcoming weeks.

Just a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like Postecoglou had an embarrassment of riches in attack but the Australian is currently struggling for options as a result of a few injuries.

Ivan Perisic could potentially be out for the rest of the season after picking up an ACL injury while Manor Solomon faces three months on the sidelines after injuring his knee in training last week.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou is also without summer signing Brennan Johnson at the moment, although there is said to be hope within the club that the Wales international could be fit for the clash against Fulham on October 23 (The Athletic).

Gil could have an important role under Postecoglou

Football Insider suggest that the injury crisis at Spurs might pave the way for Gil to force himself into Postecoglou’s plans. The outlet states that the 22-year-old could come in from the cold and have a key role to play over the coming weeks.

This is because the Spain international, who recently recovered from his groin injury, is alleged to have ‘blown away’ Postecoglou with his displays in training.

Gil certainly has the attributes to thrive in Postecoglou’s system. The 22-year-old was excellent when he was handed opportunities by Conte last season and his direct and aggressive style is something that the Spurs head coach will like.
