Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham are looking for a player matching Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma’s profile.
Following Antonio Conte’s meeting with the Tottenham hierarchy this week, it has emerged that a new central midfielder is one of the club’s priorities, with AC Milan’s Franck Kessie thought to be on Spurs’ radar.
Sky Sports have now revealed that Conte’s men are looking for a player of the characteristics of Bissouma, who has gone from strength to strength at the Amex Stadium over the last few years.
The report reveals that the Mali international is being eyed by Aston Villa and could move to Villa Park this month if Steven Gerrard’s men meet the Seagulls’ asking price, which is thought to be close to £50m.
However, it is explained that Bissouma could prefer to wait until the summer as he knows that the likes of Spurs are looking for a player of his profile.

Interestingly, reports are suggesting that signing a central midfielder is one of Conte’s priorities this month.
With Ndombele looking like he is on the way out, one would presume that the Italian wants a number 8 like Kessie than a number 4/number 6 like Bissouma.
However, we do not seem to be particularly close to signing any midfielder as things stand.
