Ange Postecoglou has provided a positive injury update on Yves Bissouma after the Mali international seemingly went down at half-time and walked gingerly off the pitch.
Tottenham have now played two pre-season friendlies this summer, with Bissouma starting in midfield against both West Ham United and Lion City Sailors.
However, Tom Barclay reported at half-time that the midfielder seemed to be getting medical attention on the pitch, and didn’t look took comfortable when walking either.
This would be a massive blow to Spurs ahead of the new campaign, as Bissouma had just been finding his feet after an injury-hit season last time out.
Postecoglou eases fears of Yves Bissouma injury
Fortunately, Postecoglou does not believe there is any issue with the player, and put the video down to exhaustion more than anything else.
Tottenham are now under 20 days away from starting their debut season under Postecoglou and will want a strong squad to choose from come the opening fixture against Brentford.
Postecoglou said (Tom Barclay): “He did all the runs at the end. Think he was exhausted. I haven’t picked up anything from the medics.
“It’s fair to say they’ll be exhausted after what we’ve done in the last three days but I don’t think there’s any issues.”

Spurs Web Opinion:
In what is turning out to be a rather chaotic pre-season, the last thing Spurs need is to pick up an injury to an important first-team player.
I suspect the squad will be a lot smaller this season as Tottenham are not in Europe, so injuries to the starting XI may hit harder at times.
