Yves Bissouma produced a moment of magic for Mali in their 4-0 win over South Sudan in their AFCON qualifier clash on Friday.

After enduring a frustrating 2022-23 campaign following his switch from Brighton last summer, Bissouma has been a player reborn under Ange Postecoglou, having arguably been the main driving force behind Tottenham’s impressive start to the season.

Yves Bissouma stuns with an incredible assist

The midfielder has seemingly carried his club form into the international stage, producing an eye-catching assist that is breaking the internet.

Bissouma, who started on the bench for Mali and replaced Mohamed Camara on 62 minutes, went on a mazy run and then dummied the goalkeeper with a fine piece of skill right on the goalline before playing the ball to his teammate to tap into an empty net.

The close control and balance that Bissouma has on the ball is comparable to the best dribblers in the game. The fact that Conte could not somehow fit a highly skilled maverick such as the 27-year-old into his starting eleven shows how rigid the Italian was in his way of viewing the game.
