Italian football expert Siavoush Fallahi has exclusively told The Spurs Web that he expects both Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur to thrive under Antonio Conte at Tottenham.

The Juve duo were the only two players to arrive through the door at Spurs during the January window.

This came after a tricky start to the window for Tottenham, particularly after the club had failed to get deals for the likes of Adama Traore and Luis Diaz over the line (Telegraph).

According to The Athletic, Kulusevski is a player that Conte has been a long-term admirer of, with the Spurs boss allegedly trying to take the Swede to Inter Milan two years ago.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Conte is relatively satisfied with the business Tottenham have done in January, although he would have liked to see more players being brought in.

Despite Kulusevski and Bentancur’s struggles at Juve this season, Fallahi believes that both players can do well at Spurs due to the role clarity they will get from Conte.

The journalist told Spurs Web: “Kulusevski is a technical player who’s very versatile overall attacking positions. He has played everything from striker to winger and can handle many positions.

“With Conte, I believe he’ll get clarity on his role and he will evolve tactically and technically as well as physically which most players do under Conte. Kulusevski has the possibility to give Spurs goals, assists as well as a very high work rate.

“Bentancur is a player who has a lot of quantity in his game. He’s brilliant tactically and is good at winning the ball. His distribution isn’t the best but if he’s got clear tasks and a clear role which he will have with Conte he’ll do well. I think he’s been a bit too criticised during his time at Juve and I look forward to seeing him at Spurs.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Both Kulusevski and Bentancur certainly make our squad stronger, although the jury is out on whether either player makes our staring eleven much stronger. However, there are plenty of upsides, especially with Kulusevski as he still has plenty of time to develop into a more complete package.
