The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur no longer consider Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat to be a target while they look to secure Rodrigo Bentacur.

Tottenham are yet to officially make any new signings this window but it now appears to be only a matter of time before Dejan Kulusevski completes a move to the North London club (Fabrizio Romano).

The print edition of Corriere Fiorentino (as relayed by Sport Witness) claimed a few days ago that Spurs had struck an agreement with Fiorentina over Amrabat.

It was suggested that the North London club were expected to sign the Moroccan on loan for a fee of €1.5m (£1.2m), with an option of making the deal permanent for an additional €15m (£12.4m) in the summer.

However, the speculation linking Antonio Conte’s men with the 24-year-old has gone quiet over the last two days, with Juve’s Rodrigo Bentancur subsequently emerging as Tottenham’s top midfield target (Gianluca Di Marzio).

If The Telegraph are to be believed, Tottenham are still working on a deal to sign Amrabat before Monday’s transfer deadline.

However, Kilpatrick has now taken to social media to announce that the Uruguayan is the man Spurs want rather than the Moroccan.

While the Kulusevski transfer seems certain to go through, there is still confusion over who Tottenham’s top midfield target is.

Apart from Amrabat and Bentancour, some sources have also claimed that the club could make a deadline day move for Brighton’s Yves Bissouma (Mirror).

While Bentencour seems like the most likely out of the three to arrive through the door, Paratici could well have something else up his sleeve.
