Four Tottenham Hotspur players have been named among the nominees for the EA Sports Premier League Team of the Season – Harry Kane, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Cristian Romero.

Tottenham have endured a difficult campaign in many respects, with results and performances on the field proving to be frustrating for fans.

That’s not to mention off-the-field circumstances which have seen Antonio Conte lose his job as Spurs manager, too.

Despite all this, Spurs do still find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table and remain in with an outside shot at claiming a top-four spot by the end of the season.

It’s been an impressive campaign for Harry Kane, on an individual level, at least. The talismanic striker has registered 23 goals and two assists in the league this season (Transfermarkt) and has by far been the Lilywhites’ stand-out performer.

For Hojbjerg, it’s been a rather fruitful year, too. The combative midfielder has added goals to his game, hitting four league goals and contributing four assists in the Premier League this season (Transfermarkt).

Sadly, Rodrigo Bentancur has missed the back end of the season through an ACL injury, but was performing brilliantly before that.

The Uruguayan star managed to bag five goals and two assists in just 18 league games (Transfermarkt).

As for Romero, it’s also been a campaign interrupted by injury, but the 24-year-old did become a World Cup winner at the end of 2022.

He’s also played 22 league games this term and has been one of the more solid elements of a shaky Spurs defence (Transfermarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion

I would honestly only vote for Harry Kane for the Team of the Season, as he has been incredible once again.

Bentancur was doing so well before the injury, and Hojbjerg has been great at times but poor at others.

As for Romero, I don’t think you can reward any Spurs defender for what we’ve seen this year.
