Rodrigo Bentancur is now back out on the grass, with the midfielder posting an Instagram story (via Football.London) of him running on the Hotspur Way pitch.
Bentancur has been out of action since rupturing a cruciate ligament in Tottenham‘s loss to Leicester City back in early February, with the midfielder going under the knife soon after (Evening Standard).
The team’s results have fallen down a cliff in the Uruguayan’s absence, which demonstrates his importance to the side, and it seems like the Lilywhites might have to do without him at the start of next season as well.
This is because The Athletic reported at the start of this month that Bentancur is not expected to be match fit until November.
However, Bentancur’s latest update will fill Spurs fans with some optimism regarding an earlier return, with the 25-year-old posting a video of himself on the training pitch, doing some light running as he ramps up his rehabilitation process.
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Bentancur is already training outdoors and doing running drills suggests that he is potentially just a couple of months away from being fully fit.
Given how he has progressed over the last month, it looks like there might be a chance that he returns in time for pre-season.
