The agent of Micky van de Ven has said that a switch to Tottenham would be a good move for his client but insisted there is no agreement in place with the North London club so far.
Signing a left-sided centre-back was evidently one of Spurs‘ priorities coming into the transfer window and if reports over the last 48 hours are to be believed, the Lilywhites are on the verge of signing a promising young central defender.
It was reported by The Daily Mirror (17:55, 04/07) on Monday that Van de Ven had agreed to join the Lilywhites, who are now looking to complete the ‘final details’ to seal a £30m transfer.
This was also backed up by The Athletic on Tuesday, with the publication suggesting that the Wolfsburg star is edging closer to a switch to Tottenham, who are growing increasingly confident of winning the race for the 22-year-old.
In fact, De Telegraaf even claimed on Tuesday that Van de Ven and his entourage had already flown to London and met with representatives from Tottenham, with the Dutchman alleged to have an ‘excellent feeling’ after his talks with Ange Postecolgou.

However, the centre-back’s agent, Jose Fortes Rodriguez, has now denied that a deal to take his client to Spurs has been agreed.
When asked about the speculation, he told Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung (as relayed by Sport Witness): “We have to talk to VfL first. I think Tottenham would be a good move for Micky. But there is no agreement.”

Personal terms are seemingly not an issue with Van de Ven and if reports over the last couple of days are to be believed, Tottenham do not appear that far away from agreeing on a fee with Wolfsburg.
I expect this transfer to speed up in the coming days unless there is some sudden breakthrough in Spurs’ talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Edmond Tapsoba.
