One newspaper from Germany, Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, has reported that Micky Van de Ven could stay at Wolfsburg for next season despite links to Tottenham Hotspur.

The report claims that despite interest from multiple clubs in the young, Dutch central defender, Wolfsburg have not yet received any firm offers.

Wolfsburg do not want to be without Van de Ven

It is also said that Wolfsburg want to try ‘with all their might’ to keep Van de Ven at the club for at least one more season in the Bundesliga.

The German club reportedly want £34m for their rapid centre-back, but the notion of taking him back on loan for the 2023/24 campaign is also mentioned, something that surely would not suit Tottenham who want to revamp their central defence this summer.

This comes after The Athletic claimed that Tottenham were closing in on Van de Ven’s signing.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I get the impression that Tottenham want Tapsoba and will spend the next week trying to get his price down.

If they feel that Bayer Leverkusen are asking for too much money, then they will turn to Van de Ven.

Just like most Spurs fans, I am asking ‘why not both?’
