Let me rephrase that actually, I do not see Eriksen wanting to leave as a problem at all. If handled in the correct way, it could be a great opportunity.

The Great Dane has today revealed to the press that he is ready for a new challenge, if a bigger club comes in with an offer for him this summer (Ekstra Bladet).

I say, bring it on. If Tottenham can get £70m for the playmaker in the next few weeks, then they should leap at the chance to rustle up even more funds for Pochettino.

Eriksen is 27 now, and Spurs have enjoyed six years of the talented midfielder, so perhaps it is time for a change all around.

Spurs could take that money and invest in a new, young talent for the future. In my opinion, they should simply sell up as quickly as possible, and take £60m of the funds to make an instant bid for James Maddison (Mirror).

Young, English, provides goals, assists, and free-kicks. To me, it’s a no brainer. Maddison would be able to slot in seamlessly, as he already has Premier League experience, as well as contact with some of the Spurs squad through England.

However, Spurs must get the ball rolling as fast as possible, with other clubs lurking (ITV). The only problem could be that Eriksen has made it clear he is willing to sign a new deal if a bigger club does not come in for him (Ekstra Bladet), so this could drag the deal on far into the transfer window.

Fingers crossed Levy can work his magic and get these two deals done in the next month.
