Jude Bellingham has praised Harry Kane’s qualities as a player but refused to comment on the speculation linking the striker with a move to Real Madrid.

Until a week and a half ago, various Spanish outlets (including Marca) were talking up the chances of Kane moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

It was suggested that the centre-forward is keen on making the switch to the Spanish capital while Daniel Levy is open to selling the 29-year-old to a club outside the Premier League.

However, the situation appears to have changed over the last few days, with reports now suggesting that the move might not be on the cards.

We relayed a report from El Partidazo de COPE a couple of days ago, which suggested that Real have decided they will not be pushing ahead with an approach for Kane this summer.

The outlet claimed that Los Blancos only expect four new faces to arrive at the club this summer – Jude Bellingham, Fran Garcia, Brahim Diaz and Joselu.

Predictably, Bellingham was asked about the speculation linking his England teammate with a move to the La Liga giants in his first press conference as a Madrid player.

The midfielder responded (via The Mirror): “As far as the Harry Kane rumours, you know I can’t comment on that, he is a world-class player, he is my captain for the national team and I love him as a player and as a person.

“Whatever happens, there happens, but it’s not really for me to comment about.”

Spurs Web Opinion

If Real Madrid do make a move for a forward this summer, it now looks overwhelmingly likely that it would be Kylian Mbappe. It is now starting to seem quite likely that Kane will remain at Tottenham and let his contract run down, with the striker clearly not pushing for a move this summer.
