In their weekly update, Football.London have revealed how the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele and Tottenham’s other loanees got on over the weekend.

After the high of booking a place in the Champions League quarter-finals at Juventus’ expense last week, Villarreal were brought back down to earth over the weekend.

Lo Celso endured a tough evening on Sunday as the Yellow Submarine fell to a 1-0 loss away at Cadiz.

Ndombele played the full 90 minutes for Lyon in their 1-1 draw at home against Porto, which saw the Ligue 1 book their place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

However, the midfielder was an unused substitute for Lyon on Sunday as they played out a 0-0 against Reims.

Bryan Gil got another 74 minutes under his belt against Elche on Saturday but the winger was not at his creative best, with Valencia edging to a 1-0 victory.

It was a tough weekend for Pape Matar Sarr, who came off from the bench for the final half an hour as Metz were thrashed 6-1 by Rennes.

Cameron Carter-Vickers continued his excellent run of form, helping Celtic keep another clean sheet as Ange Postecoglou’s side beat Ross County 4-0 to maintain their three-point lead over Rangers.

Tory Parrott’s MK Dons battled to a 1-0 win at Cambridge United on Saturday in what turned out to be a difficult night for the Spurs forward.

The MK Citizen gave him a rating of six out of 10 and wrote about the 20-year-old’s display: “Battered and bruised after a relentless outing with little to no reward. He wasn’t alone in that though.”

Jack Clarke played 74 minutes for Sunderland in their 0-0 draw at Lincoln City, with Chronicle Live giving the Spurs man a rating of 7 and writing about the winger: “Offered a real attacking threat and went close on numerous occasions. Did everything but score.”

Kion Etete’s ankle injury ruled him out of Cheltenham Town’s 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon while Nile John missed out on Charlton’s matchday squad in their 2-0 win at home against Burton Albion.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that Nile John is not even making the substitute bench for Charlton is worrying. I would not be surprised if Spurs recalled the 19-year-old over the coming weeks as he would at least benefit from getting game time for our Under-23s.
