According to Sky Sport Italia (13/07/23 – as relayed by Mondo Napoli), Tottenham Hotspur have asked about the availability of Juventus left-back Andrea Cambiaso.
Cambiaso, who came through Genoa’s youth set-up, was snapped up by Juventus last summer, with the Old Lady loaning him out to Bologna for the season.
The 23-year-old was one of the mainstays in the Bologna backline last season, with the two-footed youngster also demonstrating his versatility by filling in at right-back on a few occasions.
Spurs have shown interest in Andrea Cambiaso
Sky Italia claim that Cambiaso’s performances at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara last season have caught the attention of both AC Milan and Tottenham.
The report mainly focuses on Milan’s pursuit of the defender, stating that the Rossoneri have identified the Juve star as the man to replace Fodé Ballo-Toure, who is expected to leave the San Siro.
It is alleged that the Serie A side have contacted the player’s representatives but they face competition from Spurs, who have also ‘probed’ Cambiaso’s situation.
The publication adds that Juventus are expected to demand €25m (£21.4m) for the versatile defender.
Spurs Web Opinion
Signing a left-back would not be a priority for Postecoglou despite Ryan Sessegnon’s recent injury.
The Australian will want to take a closer look at Destiny Udogie over the coming weeks and assess if he can compete with Ben Davies for a starting spot next season.
