Il Bianconero have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are now leading the race to sign Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer.
Last week, we relayed a report from Football Insider, which claimed that Tottenham were growing in confidence that they would be able to lure Bremer away from Juventus.
The report stated that Bremer ranks high on Ange Postecoglou’s wishlist, with the Juve star seen as someone who ticks ‘a lot of boxes’ for the Australian.
This was also backed up by CaclioMercatoWeb.it at the start of this week, with the outlet asserting the 26-year-old will leave the Allianz Stadium if Tottenham offer €50m (£43.4m) for his services.
Tottenham at the front of the queue for Bremer
Il Bianconero have now also confirmed that Bremer is one of the players that Juve are willing to listen to offers for this summer.
The publication adds that the centre-back has always had admirers in the Premier League, with ‘Tottenham ahead’ at the moment.
In fact, the report goes on to reveal that Juve have already identified Stuttgart’s Konstantinos Mavropanos and Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap as replacements for Bremer if the former Torino man departs.
Spurs Web Opinion
While signing a left centre-back appears to be Tottenham’s top priority at the moment, Bremer evidently seems to be one of the names on the club’s radar for the right side of central defence.
However, I expect us to pursue a homegrown player like Marc Guehi, who would cost around the same as the Juve star.
