Sport have revealed that Juventus have now entered the race to sign Tottenham target Clement Lenglet.
The report states that as the deadlock continues in the negotiations between Spurs and Barcelona for Lenglet, Juventus could now look to pounce and take advantage of the situation.
It is explained that the Serie A club have a good relationship with Barcelona and have now enquired about the Frenchman’s ability.
However, the report states that Juve are yet to launch an official offer for the defender and would prefer to sign Lenglet on loan with an option to buy.
Meanwhile, Barca are allegedly continuing to demand €15m (£13m), which no club has shown an inclination to pay so far.
Lenglet appears to still be waiting for Tottenham
Sport assert that Lenglet expects the deadlock between Tottenham and Barca to resolve this week, with the defender having already agreed personal terms with the North London club.
The outlet adds the 28-year-old’s departure is crucial for the La Liga giants, who are keen to reduce their wage bill even further.
Spurs Web Opinion
Barcelona seem to be playing the waiting game in the hope that someone would offer a bigger fee for Lenglet than Spurs.
However, the reality is that not a lot of clubs would be able to match the Frenchman’s current salary (which Spurs are seemingly prepared to).
So, the Catalan club would have to eventually relax their demands and let the defender Tottenham for a cut-price fee.
