After a string of blistering displays throughout September, Tottenham Hotspur skipper Heung-min Son has been nominated for the EA Sports FC Premier League player of the Month award.
Since taking on the captain’s armband at Tottenham, it appears Heung-min Son has grown in stature and is clearly flourishing in his new role under Ange Postecoglou.
The Son who was lacking in confidence and fitness last season is long gone, and we look to be seeing the kind of form that helped the South Korean star take a share of the Golden Boot award in the 2021/22 campaign instead.
In particular, Son has developed an exciting connection with new signing James Maddison early on this season and the pair look like the key outlet for Spurs in attacking areas.
The 31-year-old now has six goals to his name this season (Transfermarkt), and appears to have earned the right to start in the centre forward role ahead of Richarlison, at least for the time being.
Son nominated for Player of the Month award
That’s not all Son has earned, either. The nominations for the EA Sports FC Premier League Player of the Month award are in, and Son has made the list.
The Spurs star is joined by Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, and Wolves winger Pedro Neto. Former Tottenham man, Kieran Trippier, is the only defensive player to make the nominations.
Here are the nominees for September's @premierleague Player of the Month.

Spurs Web Opinion
Based on attacking returns alone, it is hard to look past Sonny for this one. His goals have helped us to some huge results over the last month, and his high-energy performances have been a joy to watch, too. Not only that, but he has stepped up massively as a leader and looks to be a real authority on the pitch now.
