Fichajes.net have claimed that Barcelona are set to reignite their interest in Giovani Lo Celso during the January transfer window.
Over the past few days, multiple Spanish outlets, have claimed that Real Betis are keeping a close eye on the midfielder’s situation ahead of the January window (AS via Sport Witness).
Football Insider even suggested a few days ago that Spurs are ready to cash in on the Argentine in January since he has a little over 18 months left to run on his contract.
Barcelona set to rejoin the race for Lo Celso
If Fichajes’ latest update is to be believed, Barca are also eyeing a move for the Tottenham man when the transfer window opens.
The report states that Lo Celso is admired by Xavi Hernandez and that his name ‘appears strongly’ in the Catalan club’s wishlist as they aim to bolster their midfield department.
It is alleged that Xavi believes that the 27-year-old would fit well into his system and Barca are expected to launch an offer of €15m (£13m) for the player.
Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham will likely want to get a bidding war going between Betis and Barca, although the Catalan club are seemingly not in a position to pay anything more than £10m-£15m for Lo Celso, given their current financial predicament.
