According to a report in Calciomercato.it, Antonio Conte has given five specific names to the Tottenham hierarchy that he wants to be brought to the club.

Conte seems to be moving increasingly close to replacing Nuno Espirito Santo as the Tottenham head coach, with the Italian currently in London to sort out the final details.

Reports from Italy have indicated that Spurs have agreed to give the 52-year-old a significant transfer budget of more than €100m (£84.6m) in a ‘short time’.

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has also revealed that the former Chelsea boss will be given assurances of funds to rebuild the squad.

Meanwhile, Sport Mediaset reported earlier today that Conte wants the signings of three to four players during the January transfer window.

Calciomercato.it have now revealed that the former Inter boss has made ‘very specific requests’ of Tottenham and ‘wants big purchases’.

The report claims that Conte wants to reunite with Marcelo Brozovic and Stefan de Vrij who were part of his Serie A winning squad at the San Siro last season.

Conte has also allegedly asked for the North London club to buy Juventus duo Federico Chiesa and Matthijs de Ligt as well as AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Conte to be specific with his requests and it would not be surprising if he focuses on central defenders and defensive midfielders, given that those two areas of the pitch that are crucial to the way the Italian usually sets his teams up. It will certainly be very interesting to see what Spurs do in January.
