Danny Rose has been told by Watford that he will not play for the club again this season with the former Tottenham defender now made available for transfer this month, according to Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Hornets just six months ago having left Spurs as a free agent in the summer.

However, Sky Sports have claimed Rose will not feature for Watford again this term and is expected to leave Vicarage Road during the January transfer window.

The left-back initially earned a consistent run in the line-up early in the season, but quickly lost his place in the side shortly after the arrival of Claudio Ranieri in October.

Rose has played just four games under the Italian manager – all in defeats against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.

His appearance against the Citizens was Rose’s last match for Watford and, since being included on the bench for the trip to Brentford on December 10, he has been left out of the last two squads for the home defeats to West Ham and Spurs.

It is a shame to see how Rose’s career has gone over the last couple of years and he will now be on the lookout for a new club already.

We don’t know the reasons behind this quick departure, but hopefully he will be able to find another club fairly soon heading into the second half of the campaign.
