Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to seal the signing of Wigan Athletic midfielder Alfie Devine, after agreeing on a £500,000 fee with the Latics.
Spurs have been linked with a number of Wigan’s younger talents after it emerged that the club had gone into administration (Daily Mail).
The Championship side could reportedly be allowed to sell some of their assets before the transfer window officially opens with the administrators look to keep the club afloat.
Football Insider claim that Spurs have had their half a million pound bid for Divine accepted.
The 15-year-old, who impressed during Wigan’s FA Youth Cup run is considered a hot prospect, having already featured for the club’s Under-23s.
The midfielded, who has also represented England Under-16s, appears that he could be North London bound.
It is said that the teenager has already visited Tottenham’s training centre at Hotspur Way to negotiate personal terms with the club.
Divine will join the club’s academy set up and it is revealed that the youngster has been promised a pathway into the first-team in the future.

Having a talent such a Divine available for just £500,000 certainly seems like too good an offer to turn down and I am not surprised Levy seems to have jumped at the chance.
Given that Financial Fair Play is proving impossible to implement, the only hope we have of competing with the mega-rich clubs is to take a gamble on younger players and have a relatively accessible pathway to the first-team.
