Alfie Devine got on the scoresheet for Port Vale on Sunday but it was a disappointing afternoon for the Valiants, who fell to a 2-1 loss at home to Cheltenham Town.
Big things are expected from Devine at Tottenham and many at the North London club will be watching the youngster’s progress at Vale Park closely.
The 19-year-old has made a promising start to his loan spell at the League One outfit and continued that on Sunday as he opened the scoring for the home side.
The attacking midfielder peeled off to the far post and met a knock-down from a corner kick acrobatically to put Andy Crosby’s men 1-0 up but a Sean Long brace meant that Cheltenham walked away with all three points.

The 19-year-old evidently has a goalscorer’s instinct and is able to sniff chances inside the box. Despite Port Vale’s struggles going forward, I would not be surprised if Devine ended up with more than ten goals over the course of the season.
