The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to loan out Alfie Devine this summer.
There has been plenty of excitement around Devine for the last few years at Tottenham, with the midfielder catching the eye with his displays for the club’s Under-18s and the Under-21s.
With Ange Postecoglou having a reputation for trusting young talent, the 18-year-old might be hoping that the Australian is the one to open the door for him to compete for a regular first-team place.
Devine played the second half of Tuesday’s pre-season friendly against West Ham, operating out of position on the right flank and the youngster served another reminder of just why he is so highly thought of at the club.
The teenager combined impressively with the likes of Emerson Royal and Pape Matar Sarr, creating a great chance for Davinson Sanchez and almost getting on the scoresheet himself.
Alfie Devine will likely head out on loan this year
Even though the former Wigan Athletic academy starlet would have caught Postecoglou’s eye with his display, The Athletic assert that the expectation at Spurs is that the midfielder would spend the upcoming campaign out on loan.

Devine needs regular football under his belt, which is why a loan move to a League One club would be ideal for the midfielder this summer.
Depending on how well the 18-year-old does, Spurs could consider recalling him in January and loaning him to a Championship outfit if necessary.
