The Independent report that Tottenham duo, Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett, are both being lined up for loan moves away from the club this summer.
Devine was included in the travelling squad for Tottenham’s Asia-Pacific pre-season tour, and played the second half against West Ham United on the right wing.
Scarlett, meanwhile, did not feature for the Lilywhites under Ange Postecoglou in pre-season this year as he was struggling with an injury.
Scarlett and Devine may both go out on loan
It is reportedly felt that a loan move would be the best next step in the development of both players, as Spurs look for teams to take Devine and Scarlett for the full 2023/24 campaign.
Both youngsters are now 19 and are seen as the jewels in the current crop of academy starlets, but may struggle to earn minutes under Postecoglou this season.
Spurs are not playing in Europe, meaning domestic minutes will have to be shared across the entire squad, which is likely why the Lilywhites are attempting to find loan moves for Devine and Scarlett.
Spurs Web Opinion:
This is very sensible from Spurs, and they haven’t done it enough in recent years. Scarlett and Devine are both at the point where they should be playing every single week.
Spurs should really send them to two top League One teams who play attacking football and will be pushing for promotion this year, rather than risking them ending up on the bench in the Championship.
