Harry Redknapp praised Richarlison for his late cameo against Sheffield United and admitted that he is excited by what Tottenham Hotspur can achieve under Ange Postecoglou.

Heading into the final few minutes of injury time, it seemed like the bubble was about to be burst at Tottenham, with the home side struggling to find a way through the Blades’ resolute backline.

However, the Lilywhites kept plugging away and got their just rewards, with goals in the 98th and the 100th minute ensuring that they go into the North London derby unbeaten and riding a wave of momentum.

The Tottenham fans were delirious at the full-time whistle and Postecoglou insisted after the game that they have every right to get carried away and dream big (Spurs Play).

Richarlison was the hero of the day for Spurs, netting his first Premier League goal of the season with a well-directed header before setting up Dejan Kulusevski’s winner.

Harry Redknapp was impressed by Richarlison

Redknapp believes that this performance could be the confidence boost that the Brazilian needed to kick on and prove his doubters wrong.

The former Spurs manager told BetVictor when he named Richarlison in his Team of the Week: “Finally, I can’t not discuss the Spurs game which saw a dramatic late turnaround. Whilst I did feel for Sheffield United, it was unsurprising that Spurs managed to find at least one late goal.

“The introduction of Richarlison, who’s had a difficult start to life at Tottenham, was key in finally getting past Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham who had a fine game.

“Richarlison has faced plenty of criticism in the past but if he can continue to produce performances like that, he can turn it around with pundits and fans alike. As for Spurs, moments like this can be key across the season and I’m interested to see just how far they can go under Ange Postecoglou.”
