Richarlison had admitted that going public with his off-field issues was a huge weight off his shoulders and he is now keen to work hard to force himself into Tottenham’s starting eleven.

Richarlison admitted during the international break earlier this month that he was struggling with problems in his personal life and that he plans to seek ‘psychological help’ (Globo Esporte).

Since then, Ange Postecoglou has come out in full support of the forward, stating that he will get all the help he needs from professionals at the club (The Times).

Richarlison feels he is back on the right path

The Tottenham players have also got behind the striker as evidenced by their reaction after his goal and assist against Sheffield United (Football.London).

Richarlison has now revealed that everyone at Spurs ’embraced’ him when he went public with his struggles and remarked that he is focused on working hard on the training pitch now that he has got things off his chest.

The 26-year-old told ESPN Brasil: “That outburst was a weight off my shoulders. After that, I think things got better, so much so that I came back here happy, the group embraced me here.

“I came back scoring goals, giving assists. It was good to get that off my chest. I’m a guy who keeps things to myself and, at that moment, I spoke from the heart.

“What I was suffering from wasn’t on the pitch, in training, it was the bad people around me. Thank God those people are gone, it’s all going to get better. Now I have to train as hard as I can this week to be a starter (against Liverpool).”

ESPN also pointed out that the Tottenham man recently stopped working with Renato Velasco, the agent who has represented him from the start of his career.
