Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has admitted that he is not used to playing as little football as he has so far this season but spoke in glowing terms of the team’s progress under Ange Postecoglou.
Although Hojbjerg has not started a single Premier League match so far this season, Postecoglou has shown that he trusts the Dane, having brought him on as a second-half substitute for seven of the eight matches so far this season (Transfermarkt).
With Yves Bissouma suspended for the clash against Fulham on Monday following his red card against Luton Town, the former Southampton man is likely in line for his first league start of the season against the Cottagers.
Plenty of different sources have indicated over the past couple of weeks that Hojbjerg is expected to push for a move away from Spurs in January in search of regular game time (Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham podcast).
The Tottenham man is reported to be on the radars of Juventus (CalcioMercato), Atletico Madrid (Mundo Deportivo), and Roma (IlRomanista) ahead of the January window.
Hojbjerg is remaining professional for Tottenham
When asked about his situation at Tottenham, Hojbjerg has now told Ekstra Bladet (via The Evening Standard): “We are in a very good position in the league, even though it is only a short time into the season, and we are making really good progress.”
“So, it’s all about keeping up. I haven’t played as much as I’ve been used to, but it’s also something you take with you and have to accept it and learn from.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Hojbjerg is a model professional and someone who is completely committed to the cause. So, even if he has made his mind up to leave Tottenham in January, Postecoglou can fully trust him to give his all until the day he departs the club.
