Leeds attacker Wilfried Gnonto, who was linked with a move to Tottenham during the summer transfer window, was blown away by Destiny Udogie’s performance in the North London Derby.

The clash at the Emirates was arguably the biggest game of Udogie’s career so far and undoubtedly the toughest test he has had in the Premier League.

He was up against one of the best attackers in the division in Bukayo Saka and after being cautioned early in the game, some may have feared the worst.

However, the Tottenham man once again showed maturity beyond his years and kept Saka quiet for the majority of the encounter as Spurs came away with a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

Gnonto was certainly quite impressed with the display that his Italy Under-21 teammate delivered on Sunday.

It was reported during the summer transfer window that the 19-year-old was on Tottenham’s radar (LondonWorld), with some outlets even suggesting at the time that he was keen on leaving Elland Road (Daily Telegraph).

Here’s what Gnoto commented on Udogie’s Instagram post after the game:

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Spurs go back in for Gnonto in January as he very much fits the profile of signings that the club have been making recently. Perhaps Udogie’s presence at N17 would give us an advantage over the Leeds star’s other suitors.
