Italy manager Luciano Spalletti has said Destiny Udogie ‘has it all’ after the Tottenham Hotspur youngster made his international debut recently.
Destiny Udogie has been a revelation since joining up with the Tottenham first team this year. The starlet actually signed for Spurs last season, but remained on loan with his former club Udinese for the 2022/23 season.
That extra time spent in Italy clearly worked wonders for Udogie, who has arrived in England this season looking hungry to succeed. The 20-year-old is one of many players thriving under Ange Postecoglou at Spurs.
For someone so young, and given he is brand new to life in England and the Premier League, Udogie has settled in remarkably well.
He has started all eight games for Spurs this term, and added two assists as the Lilywhites climbed to the top of the table before the international break (Transfermarkt).
Destiny Udogie praised by Spalletti on Italy duty
Earning his first call-up to the Italy senior squad for these international fixtures was inevitable, and Udogie came on as a substitute against Malta on Saturday for an 11-minute cameo.
Speaking about his new international star after the win over Malta, Spalletti said (via TuttoSport): “He has it all. He is a footballer who has to have experiences like all young boys, but he has a body and engine that advances for others as well.
“In a game where physicality and strength can make a difference, it’s a footballer who can give us a hand.”

Udogie has been one of the stars of the season, and the fact that he is only 20 years old and will keep getting better is so exciting. He fully deserves his time to shine on the international stage too, but I just hope he doesn’t get to do too much damage to England later this week.
