90 min have claimed that Liverpool and Newcastle United have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Bournemouth’s Llyod Kelly ahead of the January transfer window.

Even though Kelly’s contract at Bournemouth runs out next June, the Cherries rejected a £20m offer from Spurs for the centre-back on transfer deadline day, according to The Athletic.

The report claimed at the time they turned down the offer because they did not have sufficient time to sign a replacement, and it has since been suggested by some sources (Matt Barlow-Mail Q&A) that Spurs could reignite their interest in the 24-year-old in January.

Competition from Liverpool and Newcastle

90 min have now also backed Tottenham to make another move for Kelly when the transfer window reopens in January.

The outlet claims that Bournemouth might be forced to cash in on the central defender as the player has shown no inclination to sign a new contract at the Vitality Stadium.

However, the publication reveals that Spurs are not the only ones eyeing the Cherry star, with the Reds and the Magpies also said to be monitoring his situation.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no reason why Tottenham cannot beat Newcastle and Liverpool to Kelly’s signature in January as the transfer fee is not likely to be too high, given his contract situation.

It might come down to who can persuade the 24-year-old and we have already seen that Postecoglou is quite good at selling the Spurs project to players.
