Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to share their reaction to reports that the club have agreed to personal terms with Cristian Romero.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the news on the social networking platform earlier this evening, however, both clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee.
There has been plenty of speculation over some of Tottenham’s current central defenders, with Toby Alderweireld said to be keen on leaving the club this summer (The Athletic), while Davinson Sanchez has been linked with an exit from the North Londoners (talkSPORT).
Romero excelled during his season-long loan at Atalanta last season and the Serie A club are expected to take up the option to sign him on a permanent basis from Juventus for €16m (£13.8m) before looking to sell him on for a sizeable profit.
It was reported on Tuesday that Tottenham were in advanced talks with Atalanta over the potential capture of the Argentine along with his teammate, goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini.
While it now seems only a matter of time before Gollini seals his move to North London, Spurs’ negotiations for Romero are ongoing.
Here is how some Spurs fans reacted to the news:

Spurs Web Opinion
While Paratici clearly seems to want Romero, we also know by now that the Argentine is just one of a whole host of centre-backs on the Italian’s wishlist.
So, if Atalanta do not bring their asking price down, the Spurs managing director will likely turn his attentions to other players in the coming days.
