CaclioMercatoNews have reported that Tottenham and Atatanta are now €10m (£8.5m) apart in their valuations of Cristian Romero but an agreement could be reached in a ‘few hours’.
With Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini seemingly on their way to Spurs, Fabio Paratici now has Romero in his sights (Football.London).
However, Tottenham’s negotiations with Atalanta for the centre-back do not appear to be proving straightforward, with recent reports from Italy claiming that the Serie A club have rejected an offer of €45m (£38.4m) including bonuses from Tottenham for the 23-year-old.
It was even suggested that Paratici was willing to include Davinson Sanchez as a part of the deal for the Argentine international.
CaclioMercatoNews have now given a positive update, by revealing that Romero getting ‘closer and closer’ to a move to Tottenham.
The report explains that Atalanta want €60m (£51.3m) while Tottenham have offered €50m (£42.7m) for the centre-back.
However, it is asserted that the two parties are expected to come to a quick agreement, with Romero ‘ready to move to the Premier League’.
Spurs Web Opinion
The latest reports coming out of Italy regarding Romero should certainly fill Spurs fans with optimism. However, we have seen time transfers collapse out of nowhere time and again. I am certainly refraining from getting too excited and watching numerous YouTube clips of Romero until there is an official announcement from the club.
