According to a report in La Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by GFNI), Tottenham Hotspur could be involved in a transfer triangle with Juventus and Atalanta owing to their pursuit of Cristian Romero.

Tottenham are rumoured to be in talks with Atlanta over a deal for Romero.

Despite the North London club reportedly having had an initial offer for the Argentine being turned down by Atalanta, sources from Italy have indicated that the two parties are getting closer and that an agreement may be reached soon.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have explained that if Romero successfully completes his move to Tottenham, it could open the door for Atalanta to sign Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral.

The report explains that Dermial is keen on leaving the Allianz Stadium in search of regular first-team football and states that ‘this track can become very hot in the next few days or weeks’.

Interestingly, Demiral has also been heavily linked with Spurs, with the Lilywhites even said to have held talks with Juventus over the Turkish international last month.
