According to CalcioMercato (as relayed by Football Italia), despite being offered the chance to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Juventus are now considering other alternatives, including Lazio’s Lazar Samardzic.

The report states that Hojbjerg is keen to leave Spurs in search of regular game time and that the Dane’s representatives have already contacted the Old Lady and offered them the player.

However, the Serie A giants are said to be ‘making assessments’ at the moment and are considering different options to reinforce the middle of the park, with the Tottenham man not being the only name on their wishlist.

In fact, it is suggested that Juve might decide to go for a midfielder who provides more output in terms of goals and assists, which is why they might be tempted to sign Samardzic over Hojbjerg.

This report comes a little over a week after Gazzetta Dello Sport (via  Sport Witness) claimed that Tottenham’s €30m (£26m) asking price for the former Saints star is too high for the Bianconeri, who trying to get the North London club to soften their stance on the 28-year-old.

It is clear that Hojbjerg was not too happy that his agent failed to secure a summer move for him, which is presumably why he changed representation.

It appears as if the midfielder’s new representatives are working overtime ahead of the January transfer window to try and find a suitable destination for the Dane.
