Former Tottenham midfielder Sandro has approved Tottenham’s rumoured interest in signing Juventus defender Cristian Romero.
Romero had a stellar campaign on loan at Atalanta last season, with his solid displays being a crucial reason why Gian Piero Gasperini’s side managed to finish third in Serie A.
Sandro, who played with the defender during his time with Genoa in 2018, would have also watched the 23-year-old in this summer’s Copa America as Romero played an important role in Argentina’ march to the title.
Football.London’s Alasdair Gold revealed on Monday that Tottenham were in advanced talks over a deal for Romero, with the defender said to be at the top of Fabio Paratici’s wishlist.
Gold revealed that Atalanta are expected to take up the option to buy the central defender permanently from Juventus and potentially sell him on for a profit.
Sando, who is popularly known as ‘the beast’ by Spurs fans, took to social media to comment that Romero is a ‘very good defender’ amidst speculation linking the Juve man with a move to Tottenham.

Among the various central defenders Spurs have been linked with, I would not be surprised if Romero is indeed Paratici’s number one target. After all, it was the Italian who brought the 23-year-old to Juventus back in 2019.
