The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has claimed that Atalanta centre-back Cristian Romero is not interested in moving to Tottenham this summer.

Reports first emerged on Monday that Tottenham were in advanced talks with Atalanta over the possible signings of Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini.

One of those deals is seemingly progressing well, with Gollini now expected to fly to London to complete his move to Spurs.

However, it remains to be seen whether Romero will join the goalkeeper at Tottenham next season, with a deal seemingly yet to be agreed between the parties.

Atalanta CEO, Gianluca Percassi claimed recently that the central defender will stay at the club unless they receive a suitable offer (Gianluca Di Marzio).

However, if Corriere dello Sport’s latest update is to be believed, agreeing on a fee with Atalanta will only be half the battle for Spurs.

The report explains that the Argentine international is not keen on swapping Bergamo for North London. It is asserted that the 23-year-old has even informed Fabio Paratici of his desire to remain at Atalanta.

Out of all the centre-backs we have been linked with over the last couple of months, I believe Romero is the one that Paratici likes the most, with the Italian having taken the defender to Juve from Genoa in 2019. If the 23-year-old is not enthusiastic about the move, one would certainly expect Paratici to try hard to change his mind.
