Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists he is not paying attention to speculation linking him with Tottenham Hotspur, as he is more concerned with winning an upcoming cup final.
Postecoglou has just led Celtic to the SPL title for the second time in two years. He now has a chance to secure an historic treble with the club, as he prepares to lead his side into the Scottish Cup final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday.
His work in Scotland has not gone unnoticed, and the 57-year-old has recently become a frontrunner to take over the vacant managerial role at Tottenham. According to The Sun, the Australian could be installed in the post by next week.
The latest from ESPN suggests Spurs will look to ‘hold talks’ with Postecoglou after Saturday’s cup final, and it is thought the Celtic boss is now a ‘strong contender’ to take the position.
However, the man himself has been talking to the BBC about the rumours and revealed he is not letting the buzz distract him from the task at hand.
He said: “Somebody else was favourite last week, weren’t they? So no, it doesn’t register.
“I get all the interest and why people love to speculate on these things.
“But we’ve worked really really hard to get ourselves in this position and for me to let my mind wander about anything else other than getting our team prepared for a big day on Saturday, it’s just not who I am.”

When you have a big game coming up like Celtic do, I think you have to remain focused on that. I’m sure Postecoglou is interested in the Spurs job, but he still has a job to do at Celtic.
One would imagine, if he can win that cup, he will feel he has signed off on the perfect note and can move on.
