Football Insider have revealed that when they asked their sources about Tottenham’s approach for Ange Postecoglou, they were told that ‘the Spurs job is his if he wants it’.
The report states that Postecoglou has been in the box seat to land the job ever since Tottenham‘s pursuit of Arne Slot collapsed last week.
It is explained that Spurs have been ‘patient and respectful’ about their approach to the 57-year-old since he is preparing Celtic for their Scottish Cup final against Inverness, with the Bhoys aiming for a domestic treble.
Football Insider state that while Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim are both still in the running for the role, the Australian is now in a ‘very strong position’ to be in the Tottenham dugout for next season if he wants the job.
When asked about the speculation linking him with the Lilywhites, Postecoglu insisted on Thursday that he had not held any discussions over his future with his agent as he remains fully focused on Saturday’s final (Daily Record).

All indications for the moment are that we will see Spurs advance their interest in Postecoglou after Saturday’s final.
If the 57-year-old is keen on the job, one would expect the details to be sorted out quickly and an agreement to be reached in a matter of days.
