Tottenham have seemingly been handed a boost in their rumoured pursuit of Giorgio Scalvini after the Atalatna starlet admitted that he dreams of playing in the Premier League.

Scalvini has come on leaps and bounds since breaking into Atalanta’s starting eleven last season, establishing himself as a fixture in Gian Piero Gasperini’s back three and even winning three caps for Italy.

Ahead of the January transfer window, multiple Italian outlets (CMW.it and InterLive) claimed that Antonio Conte is a big fan of the 19-year-old and suggested that the youngster could be one of the North London club’s top targets.

Scalvini stayed put at Bergamo last month but the Lilywhites could potentially decide to reignite their interest in the teenager during the summer, with the Premier League club thought to be intent on singing two centre-backs during the next transfer window (Alasdair Gold – Football.London).

The Atlanta star has now admitted that he wants to experience English football.

Scalvini said in an interview with the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (24/02/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) about the Premier League: “For me, it’s the best league there is, for the intensity.

“Once in my career, I don’t even know when, I’d like to play in it.”

Scalvini has the attributes to play across Conte’s back three and the 19-year-old has the potential to develop into a world-class defender over the next two to three years.

So, I would not be surprised if Fabio Paratici decides to prioritise a deal for the 19-year-old in the summer.
