Alasdair Gold has said that he expects the speculation linking Ange Postecoglu with a move to Tottenham to increase over the coming weeks after the North London club’s appointment of Scott Munn.
Postecoglou has done an outstanding job since taking over at Celtic Park in 2021, with the club looking on course to win back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles.
The Times were the first to report at the start of March that Postecoglou is one of the names on Tottenham’s radar to take over from Antonio Conte.
This was subsequently backed up by journalist Gary Jacob who told beIN SPORTS that Spurs are looking to appoint someone who is prepared to build a long-term project at the club, with the Celtic boss alleged to fit the bill.
Last week, Spurs confirmed the appointment of Scott Munn as their new chief football officer, with the newcomer set to take over all football operations at the club as Daniel Levy’s number two.
Gold believes that Munn’s arrival could boost Postecoglu’s candidacy for the Tottenham job, given the Australian connection.
The journalist said in a Q&A on Football.London: “The arrival of Scott Munn might increase the noise around Celtic boss Ange Postecoglu, who grew up and coached in Australia.
“There are plenty of good options out there for Tottenham and they need to pick the right one.”

Munn will, no doubt, have a big say in Tottenham’s managerial appointment and he would know Postecoglu well from his time in charge of an A-League club.
However, Postecoglu would have to prove himself at a smaller Premier League side or in a bigger league before he becomes a serious candidate for an elite job.
