Juventus have been tipped to make a January move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Danish international has found himself further down in Tottenham’s midfield pecking order than he was used to under both Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte with Ange Postecoglou instead preferring a pairing of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in the middle of the park.
Hojbjerg has not started in any of Spurs’ eight Premier League matches so far this season which has seen Postecoglou’s side unbeaten in the top flight (transfermarkt). The 28-year-old played the second half of Tottenham’s 1-0 win at Luton Town at the weekend having replaced Richarlison after Bissouma was sent off on the cusp of half time after picking up a second yellow card.
Juventus are interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
The former Southampton player was heavily linked with an exit during the summer transfer window with Atletico Madrid said to have been keen on his signature and the player also interested in having the opportunity to play in the Champions League once again, only for a move to fail to materialise (Daily Mail).
The report claims that there are two names at the top of Juventus‘ shopping list which contains not only Hojbjerg, but also Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi.
Paul Pogba’s provisional suspension for an anti-doping offence has led the Old Lady to review their midfield options in the January transfer window which will also allow Juve boss Max Allegri to also tinker with his formation from the current 3-5-2 to also try 3-4-2-1 to 4-3-3.

Hojbjerg has been a model professional at Tottenham and will certainly want to be playing regular first team football with Euro 2024 on the horizon next summer, a move to Italy would allow him to get regular minutes under his belt ahead of representing Denmark in Germany.
If Hojbjerg does depart, Daniel Levy has to heavily back Postecoglou in the transfer window considering the squad is already lacking depth at some key positions including the centre of defence.
