Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Rodrigo Bentancur trained with his Tottenham teammates for the first time on Thursday.
Tottenham announced Bentancur’s signing as well as that of his former Juventus teammate Dejan Kulusevski on transfer deadline day.
While Kulusevski completed his medical at Hotspur Way (Spurs TV), Bentancur was on international duty with the Uruguay squad when his signing was confirmed.
The Evening Standard previously revealed that Kulusevski had received his work permit and trained with his new teammates on Thursday.
The report claimed that Bentancur’s work permit was not due until Friday and the Uruguayan was thus unlikely to be involved in Tottenham’s FA Cup clash against Brighton on Saturday.
However, Gold has now revealed that there have been no complications regarding the midfielder’s work permit.
He stated that the 24-year-old arrived at Hotspur Way on Thursday morning and trained with the rest of the squad yesterday afternoon.

If this is true, then it looks like both Bentancur and Kulusevski are in line to make their debuts against Brighton. However, I would be surprised if either of the new signings start the game, given that they would have only had a couple of days of training with the squad heading into the FA Cup clash.
