Antonio Conte has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso has recovered from his injury and is available for selection against Watford.
Tottenham will look to get their pursuit of a top four finish back on track at Vicarage Road on Saturday after their disappointing 1-1 draw against ten-men Southampton on Tuesday.
Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon were all unavailable for the trip to St Mary’s, along with long-term absentee Cristian Romero, who has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury in last month’s international break.
However, Spurs have now been handed a boost ahead of their trip to Watford, with Conte confirming that Lo Celso has recovered fully from his injury.
The Tottenham head coach told the club’s official website: “Giovani Lo Celso has recovered from his injury, and he’s available for the game against Watford.
“Romero, Bergwijn and Sessegnon are still out, but the good news for us is Giovani has recovered.”
Conte also had positive news regarding Romero’s recovery, revealing that the centre-back will be back in action soon.
The Spurs boss admitted that he sees the Argentine as being an important part of his plans going forward.
The 52-year-old said regarding Romero: “Everything is going in the right way with Cristian. For us, he’s an important player.
“It was a pity that he suffered a serious injury with his national team. We hope for him to recover very soon. I hope to have him available at the end of this month.”
Spurs Web Opinion
As well as Sanchez as played in Romero’s absence, the return of the Argentine earlier than scheduled would be a massive boost for Conte.
Watford are in a terrible run of form at the moment and the game on Saturday presents Spurs with a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.
