Swansea City left-back Ben Davies’ transfer to Tottenham Hotspur moved a step closer today after it was reported he is due to undergo a medical.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation with Tottenham and Liverpool going head-to-head to try and land the Neath product.
Both Swansea and Spurs are currently on a pre-season tour in America, which has been to Tottenham’s advantage in progressing the transfer talks.
Davies did not feature in Swansea’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of North American Soccer League outfit Minnesota on Saturday evening which has increased speculation that his move to White Hart Lane is reaching a conclusion.
Tottenham’s Gylfi Sigurdsson has been mooted as being part of a deal to land Davies, and the Icelandic international was withdrawn from the Tottenham starting line-up which played Seattle yesterday.
Many expect Davies to be announced as a Spurs player and become Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing within the next 48 hours.
